This is Music Theory for Everyone, a newsletter about Music Theory from a self-taught perspective. I have over 25 years experience, can play multiple instruments, and can write to a variety of styles from jazz to metal. I’ve been in bands, worked as a sound tech, and have taught other musicians so they can take their playing to the next level.
Music Theory for Everyone aims to be the source for weekly music lessons. No matter what your personal music level is, there are plenty of charts, audio clips, videos, and examples to help you along the way.
Since there is a wide range of experience levels from beginner to pro I created a series of lessons called, “LET’S PLAY MUSIC”. Each lesson will allow you to learn at your own pace and gradually builds upon our understanding of music from basic scales to using all of the notes as one big pallet to “paint” with.
All free and paid subscribers will get my articles in their email every Wednesday. Articles can be read for free for two weeks to give eveyone plenty of time to enjoy learning about music. After two weeks, articles can be accessed by paid subscribers through the archives section as often as they like. This gives paid subscribers the oportunity to review past lessons at their leisure.
If you’d like to support my work, then please consider subscribing for just $5 a month or $50 annually. After 25+ years of teaching music one thing that I learned is that music lessons should be affordable. With the price of everything going up I intend to keep these prices where they are so that an annual subscription costs as much as one to two in-person classes.
To help everyone make the best descisions for themselves, I’ve added an option so that free subscribers can try out the paid access for two weeks at no cost. When I say that learning music should be affordable, I mean it.
Whether you choose to subscibe for free or opt for a paid subscription is up to you, so thank you for your support! I truly hope you learn something new here at Music Theory for Everyone.
